Our\u00a0attorney-at-law Marika Oksaar<\/a> successfully defended the insurer in courts against a significantly huge property insurance claim in relation to a fire at the business premises of the policyholder. It was a complex dispute related to insurance, construction and fire safety laws and regulations. Volume of the circumstances and evidence was significant, including 8 technical expert opinions and 7 witnesses (including expert witnesses). The dispute focused on a\u00a0cause of the fire, breach of the construction and fire-safety regulations by the policyholder and its tenant and the effect of these beaches on the occurrence of damage and the insurer’s obligation to perform. The outcome of the dispute (total rejection of the claim by both instances of the court) exceeded the expectations of the client.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
